The 4 Freelancer Types: Which One Are You?

Uncategorized

Jasmine here. I’m so excited that you took my freelancer types quiz!

If you’re new around these parts – welcome to the party!

A little about me: I started my content marketing consultancy, Jasmine Williams Media, back in 2018 and grew it into a six-figure freelance business. In addition to the work I do with clients like Zapier, Patreon, and Shopify, I help new and aspiring creatives make their freelance business dreams come true. On my resources page, you can check out more of my helpful tools like Freelance Rate Calculator and Creative Business Set-Up Checklist.

I created this freelancer types quiz because A) who doesn’t love a personality quiz? and B) I’m all about making your freelance business work for you, not the other way around.

Answering a couple of questions may not seem like a big deal, but gaining insight into your unique motivations, strengths, and roadblocks is – and that’s what I hope you’ll gain from your results!

Keep on reading to learn more about the four freelancer types and find your freelance ~flow~.

And if you skipped to this results page and haven’t taken the quiz yet, what are you doing here?! Go complete the quiz (it takes less than five minutes) to learn your freelance type and get a recommendation specific to your freelancer type that will help you optimize your business.

Your freelancer type is the artist

The Artist

Your Motivation:

You started freelancing to do what you love. You put a lot of care into your work and love sharing your gifts with the world.

Your Strengths:

You’re super creative and are very in touch with your artistic side.

Your Roadblocks:

You’re so close to what you do and have so much passion for your work that you struggle with seeing yourself as a business owner. You tend to sell yourself short and feel a little lost with the nitty-gritty business stuff.

Your Focus Area:

Systems and processes. You didn’t start a freelance business to spend all day on calls or in your inbox. Creating more standard systems and processes will help boost your efficiency and allow you to focus more on the work you love.

Your freelance type is the freedom seeker

The Freedom Seeker

Your Motivation:

You value living life on your terms. But, more than anything, you love the flexibility and control that running a freelance business offers.

Your Strengths:

You’re very comfortable with change. You’re always willing to try out new offers or systems. It’s one of your favourite parts of freelance life.

Your Roadblocks:

Your free-spirited nature means you’re also a bit of a commitment-phobe. You have so many ideas, and it can be hard for you to stay focused and commit to something.

Your Focus Area:

Accountability. Jumping from project to project may be exciting, but consistent action will help you achieve the success you’re looking for.

Your freelancer type is the caregiver

The Caregiver

Your Motivation:

Helping others achieve their goals lights you up, and you thrive in a supportive role. Making an impact on the world and the people around you means a lot to you.

Your Strengths:

You’re naturally nurturing, loyal, and care deeply about your clients and what they do – and it shows! Your clients always feel supported and well taken care of.

Your Roadblocks:

You’re a skilled multitasker, but because you’re used to always having a lot on your plate, you sometimes miss out on opportunities to work smarter, not harder.

Your Focus Area:

Time management. How can you take better care of yourself, your business, and your clients effectively? It’s time to loosen the reins and get some help – whether that’s an extra hand on deck or investing in some time-saving software.

Your freelancer type is the money maker

The Money Maker

Your Motivation:

You’re not here to play small. Achieving financial independence lights you up. You know that increasing your earning potential will help you live out your dreams.

Your Strengths:

You’re incredibly strategic and all about the ROI. As a result, your clients know they can trust you to get the best result in the easiest, fastest, and most efficient way possible.

Your Roadblocks:

Imposter syndrome gets you down. You have big goals and can be hard on yourself when things don’t work out the way you envisioned them. You also might be scared to do the things you want to do because you’re not sure about the result.

Your Focus Area:

Alignment. You know what works for you right now, but are you truly satisfied? Understanding how your work aligns with your purpose and interests will help you re-ignite that spark and get your creative juices flowing.
